Double Diamond Squares is the only active western square dance club in the Hickory, NC area. it was first formed in July 2000 as a result of a merger of two clubs that had been in existance for a number of years; The Catawba Valley Squares and the Unifour Squares. Both of these clubs were formed from a prior club called the Hickory Nuts.

We dance on the 2nd Saturday and the last Friday of each month.  The Saturday dances are with our club caller, and our Friday dances feature visiting callers.  We welcome visitors and have a good time dancing with lines or rounds between tips that are mainstream with announced plus. We set a good refreshment table and enjoy the fellowship of other dancers.

Our classes/workshops are on Monday nights from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm.  Beginner dance lessons start in September and January for new dancers.  Year round, we welcome any square dancers who would like to join us on Mondays to dance with us and enhance their dancing skills.
