About Double Diamond
The Double Diamond Squares is the only active western square dance club in the Hickory, NC area. it was first formed in July 2000 as a result of a merger of two clubs that had been in existance for a number of years; The Catawba Valley Squares and the Unifour Squares. Both of these clubs were formed from a prior club called the Hickory Nuts.
The Double Diamonds Dances are on the 2nd Saturday and the last Friday of each month, with visiting callers. Class lessons start in September for new dancers and dancers that want to refresh their dancing skills. We welcome visitors and have a good time dancing with lines or rounds between tips that are mainstream with announced plus. We set a good refreshment table and enjoy the fellowship of other dancers.
